Embark on a fascinating journey through the Old Town of Bilbao, the city’s original heart, where past and present intertwine in a truly unique way. We’ll uncover the story behind the names of its seven original streets, surrounded by traditional buildings that capture the essence of the most authentic Bilbao. Along the way, we’ll explore the city’s history, folklore, and some of the secrets of this noble and distinguished town that has grown into a vibrant modern city.
Our first stop will be the Ribera Market, the largest covered market in Europe, where the hustle and bustle and vibrant colours of fresh produce will immerse us in the liveliest side of Bilbao.
We’ll visit the famous Plaza Nueva, a lively and charming square where you can admire its neoclassical architecture and enjoy the cozy bars offering pintxos, the hallmark of Basque cuisine. We’ll continue wandering through narrow streets full of local shops and small businesses that reflect the deep-rooted traditions of Bilbao.
We’ll also visit the Church of San Nicolás, an impressive example of Bilbao’s Baroque architecture.
